When creating the CajonStudio Fatboy, our goal was to deliver a deep, full, and characterful bass sound while preserving the crisp snare tone.
Thanks to the wider playing surface, low, mid, and high tones are well separated and distinct.

The sound of the Fatboy cajon aligns with snare-wire cajons used in drum kits.
It offers clearly distinguishable high and bass tones: a sizzling, textured snare and a punchy, defined low end.
(We also manufacture stringed versions of the Fatboy cajon upon request.)

Snare: Two sets of 20-strand snare wires are tensioned against the playing surface.
The tension of the wires can be adjusted with an Allen screw, allowing for fine-tuning and a variety of tonal options.

Bass: Among our drums, this model offers the most powerful and full-bodied bass.
The high-quality playing surface, internal bracing, and built-in sound-absorbing foam produce a clean and characterful bass tone.
The depth of the bass can be modified by adjusting the recessed screws that secure the playing surface.

Reliability: When designing our instruments, we prioritize easy maintenance: after removing the front plate, internal components can be easily accessed and replaced or repaired.
Reinforcement slats inside the cajon ensure high durability. The surface is protected with a multi-layer, thin, and wear-resistant lacquer.

Every instrument leaves our workshop only after thorough testing and initial setup.
